Ahold Delhaize UDA will take on a larger role in the Nourishing Change movement next year, joining Kroger Health and Hy-Vee as a host of the 2027 conference scheduled in Washington, D.C. The announcement follows this year’s gathering in Des Moines, Iowa, where more than 1,200 attendees and over 60 emerging food brands met to discuss ways grocery stores, pharmacies, and health providers can work more closely on everyday wellness efforts. The event was jointly organized by Kroger Health and Hy-Vee and will expand to include Ahold Delhaize USA for the next conference.
Ahold Delhaize USA operates several well-known supermarket chains, including Food Lion, Giant Food, The GIANT Company, Hannaford, and Stop & Shop. By joining as a conference host, the company becomes part of a broader effort that began with Kroger Health and has gradually added additional grocery operators with large pharmacy and food retail businesses. Rather than centering on a single retailer, the program brings together organizations involved in grocery retail, pharmacy, healthcare, technology, higher education, and community services. Organizers say the goal is to encourage practical discussions around how grocery stores and pharmacies can support healthier day-to-day choices through existing services and in-store offerings.
The next conference is expected to move from the Midwest to the Washington region in June 2027. While much of the agenda has yet to be released, the event will continue the format established in Des Moines, combining educational sessions with opportunities for retailers, suppliers, and healthcare organizations to exchange ideas and introduce new products.
