Albertsons Companies Foundation Surpasses Goal with $12.2 Million Raised to Fight Childhood Hunger

The Albertsons Companies Foundation has announced the successful completion of its inaugural “Nourish the American Dream” campaign, raising more than $12.2 million to support childhood hunger relief efforts across the United States—more than doubling its original fundraising goal of $5 million.

Launched as a nationwide initiative to help address childhood hunger, the campaign brought together more than 300 nonprofit partners, customers, and local communities. The funds raised are expected to support approximately 49 million meals for children and families facing food insecurity. More than 17,000 donors contributed to participating nonprofit organizations, while the Albertsons Companies Foundation matched $2.5 million in donations.

Christy Duncan Anderson, President and Executive Director of the Albertsons Companies Foundation, emphasized that access to nutritious food is critical for children’s growth, learning, and future success. She noted that the campaign’s strong results demonstrate the power of collaboration among retailers, nonprofit organizations, and communities working toward a common goal. The campaign also received praise from nonprofit partners, who highlighted its impact on local hunger-relief efforts and its ability to unite organizations nationwide around the shared mission of ensuring children have access to nutritious meals.
