Aptos Natural Foods opened in 1990. This store aimed to serve the community by supporting small local business owners. The products they put on their shelves represented socially responsible companies of high integrity. The staff was authentic and created a welcoming atmosphere.
The current owner, Gene (Dario) Dickinson purchased Aptos Naturals in 2015 after being the general manager for three years. Not long after his purchase Dario developed health issues. Due to the lack of his leadership and the COVID-19 pandemic, this once thriving store is now closing its doors after 33 years in business. They will be missed by the Northern California natural foods community.
