Arizona Residents Win Bashas’ 10th Donut Flavor Craze Contest

Two Arizona residents — a teen from Paradise Valley and an adult from Gilbert — have been named winners of Bashas’ 10th Annual “Donut Flavor Craze Contest,” held in celebration of National Doughnut Day on June 6th.

Thirteen-year-old Miele K. of Paradise Valley claimed first place in the youth category with her “Desert Campfire S’more” doughnut. Her creation features a Long John doughnut topped with chocolate icing, marshmallow crème drizzle, crushed graham crackers, and mini marshmallows.

In the adult category, Gilbert’s Elizabeth Bouck took top honors with her “Donoli” doughnut. Inspired by a classic cannoli, it includes a frosted vanilla base filled with cinnamon cream cheese icing, topped with crushed cannoli chips, chocolate chips, and a chocolate drizzle. Bouck was last year’s youth category winner.

Both winning doughnuts will be available at Bashas’ stores statewide beginning June 6th. To commemorate National Doughnut Day, Bashas’ will donate 10% of all doughnut sales that day to The Salvation Army, recognizing the group’s World War I efforts delivering doughnuts to soldiers. Miele and Bouck have been named Bashas’ Official Doughnut Ambassadors for 2025. Each will receive a dozen free doughnuts every month for a year and $500 in prizes, including a Bashas’ gift card.

Runner-up in the youth category is 13-year-old Audrey S. from Tucson with her “A Latte Sugar” doughnut — a buttercream-filled treat topped with chocolate-coffee frosting, caramel drizzle, and espresso ganache. In the adult category, Sheryl Keeme of Tempe earned second place for her “The Salty White Turtle” doughnut, made with vanilla dough, white ganache, caramel drizzle, pecans, and sea salt. Both runners-up will receive $50 Bashas’ gift cards.
