Bella’s Market Opens in Vineyard

Bella’s Market welcomed more than 1,000 shoppers to its grand opening and ribbon-cutting November 17th at 875 N. Main St. in Vineyard, Utah, marking the debut of the first grocery store in the 700-acre, mixed-use Utah City development along the eastern shore of Utah Lake.

The celebration featured vendors such as Kodiak Cakes, Café Ibis, Certified Angus Beef and Tuff Pops, alongside community partners Huntsman Cancer Institute and Utah City, with tents and product samples lining the storefront. Children received balloons, and early arrivals — some waiting since 6:00 A.M. — were treated to pink-iced sugar cookies.

The 40,000-square-foot store is locally owned and operated by Lee’s Marketplace in partnership with Utah City and combines the feel of a boutique specialty market with the offerings of a full-service grocer.

“This is just the beginning,” said Abel Porter, partner at Bella’s Market. “Bella’s Market sets the tone for what Utah City will become, a vibrant, connected community with amenities that make life better today and for generations to come.”

Designed by RDC, with interiors by DyeLot, the store features an expansive produce department with seasonal and local items, a scratch bakery with daily doughnuts, a tortilla press producing fresh tortillas throughout the day, in-house deli favorites, an old-style butcher block with premium cuts from Snake River Farms and Certified Angus Beef, floral arrangements by The Floral Bar Co., a full-service pharmacy and a wide assortment of Utah-made products.

“Bella’s Market is more than a grocery store; it’s a gathering place for Utah City,” said Jonathan Badger, CEO of Lee’s Marketplace and co-owner of Bella’s Market. “Our goal is to create a space where neighbors connect and enjoy the best of what Utah has to offer. By partnering with local producers and artisans, we’re not just filling shelves, we’re building community.”

Lee’s Marketplace operates as part of Associated Food Stores, a retailer-owned cooperative serving independent grocers across the Intermountain West.
