Big Moves for Rosauers Who Recently Acquired Dissmores IGA
After 37 years of being a staple in Pullman, Washington, this local grocery store will close its doors at the end of July. An announcement was made that Rosauers Supermarkets, based in Spokane has purchased the family-owned IGA. The Dissmore family opened the store back in 1937 and it remained in the family until Tidyman’s purchased the store in the late 1990’s. Archie and Shelley McGregor bought the store in 2006 and kept the Dissmore name to honor the family that started it all.
Rosauers is excited to be back in the Pullman community after a 32-year departure. They currently have stores in neighboring towns in both Colfax Washington and Moscow & Lewiston Idaho. Rosauers will take possession August 1st and in the meantime the McGregor’s are liquidating all current food inventory over the next several weeks. The store will close for an estimated nine months as a complete remodel and updating is done.
In an interview with Mike Shirts, Vice President of Rosauers, “Dissmore’s has a great reputation. It’s just in need of updating and a little more modernizing.” “I think that, certainly, the great reputation and the great location it has will serve us well.” Shirts said the company is offering preferential hiring to all Dissmore’s IGA employees. Mike also went on to comment that under the new ownership there will be more Fresh, Natural and Organic offerings, incorporating a many of their Huckleberry’s stores items to the Pullman community.
