Bozzuto’s Backs Bristol

The Hometown Foundation, Inc. raised more than $200,000 following the deaths of two officers in Bristol, Connecticut in conjunction with Bozzuto’s Inc. and its IGA retailers. The organization, established in 2002, raises money to support a broad range of programs that meet community needs. The foundation’s focus and commitment center around five key program areas: animal welfare, emergency response personnel, individuals with intellectual disabilities or in need, major illness, and the military. The Hometown Foundation immediately began fundraising for the fallen officer’s families by organizing and hosting a motorcycle and car cruise event. The event started and ended at their Farmington Polo Club location and traveled 35 miles. The foundation will also be donating two K-9’s in memory of Lt. Dustin DeMonte and Sgt. Alex Hamzy. The Hometown Foundation is also known for its yearly Dream Ride Weekend Experience for the CT Special Olympians as well as an annual HUNGERLESS Holidays event. This year, they’ve collected enough turkeys and fresh produce to help 192,000 people have a Happy Thanksgiving. The Hometown Foundation Inc., a non-profit charitable organization committed to supporting those in need, is an outreach arm of Bozzuto’s Inc. – a family-owned, leading total service wholesale distributor, established in 1945. For over 75 years, Bozzuto’s provides goods and services to independently owned retailers in the New England area and strives to be the number one wholesaler of choice in the markets it serves.
