Brandon Bagley Remembered

Brandon Thorpe Bagley (52) passed away unexpectedly of health complications on March 9th, in Redwood City, California, with his wife (Danna) and daughter (Sabrina, 11) by his side. Brandon was born October 23rd, 1970, in Ogden, Utah, to parents Penny Peterson and William C. Bagley. He spent his early years growing up in Providence, Utah. He graduated from Mountain Crest High School and went on to study Business and Finance at Utah State University where he graduated with honors.

Brandon was ambitious from the start of his career, founding and owning small businesses early on and then continuing to chase his dreams and a remarkable career in grocery and retail across the country. His interest in grocery retail began when he won the National Grocers’ Association “Best Bagger” Contest in 1990. After college, he officially entered the grocery business with Smith’s Food and Drug Centers. He remained driven and dedicated throughout his career in grocery and retail, eventually focusing his talents in the natural and organic foods market, and serving in top leadership positions with companies including Wild Oats and Whole Foods Market (Colorado), Sprouts Farmers Market (California), Wisdom Natural Brands (Arizona), and The Fresh Market (North Carolina).

Brandon was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed working with the youth of the congregation. He had many friends and loved spending time with them. He also had an affinity for nice cars which he loved to own and drive. He was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to cheering for his favorite team, the Seahawks. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time in nature with family and friends. His true love and focus shifted over the years to his daughter Sabrina Valentine (11), who truly held a special place in his life. He enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her, and the feeling was mutual.

Brandon was filled with compassion for others. He easily connected with new people and made friends and was a great boss and mentor. He was incredibly intelligent, loving, giving, driven and extremely loyal to friends and family. Brandon touched many lives with his generous spirit and infectious smile and will be sorely missed by all.

In addition to his parents, Brandon is survived by his wife, Danna Brown Bagley, daughter, Sabrina, and step-daughter, Cassi Davis. He is also survived by his two brothers, Brett (Tomela) of Mountain View, California, and Brady (Lisa) of South Jordan, Utah, along with several  aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
