Brookshire Brothers Names New Executive Leadership

Brookshire Brothers has announced a series of leadership promotions, advancing four longtime team members into key executive roles as part of a strategic transition within the company. The most notable change places Clay Oliver in the role of Chief Operating Officer after serving for years as Chief Financial Officer. Jessica Brown has been selected to succeed him as CFO, while Stephanie Cole moves into the Vice President of Accounting position. Jeff Bates has also expanded his responsibilities, taking on the role of General Counsel.

Company leadership emphasized that these promotions reflect a strong commitment to developing talent from within. Clay Oliver brings more than 20 years of experience with the organization, having started in an entry-level accounting role and later guiding financial strategy, acquisitions, and operational investments. His background and institutional knowledge position him well to oversee day-to-day operations in his new role.

Jessica Brown’s promotion to CFO follows a steady rise through the finance organization, where she has held a variety of roles across accounting and financial management. Her experience spans nearly every level of the department, equipping her with both detailed operational knowledge and a broader strategic perspective. Stephanie Cole’s journey is another example of internal growth, beginning as a store cashier before transitioning into accounting and ultimately earning her CPA designation. In her new role, she will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

Jeff Bates, who has served as corporate counsel in recent years, will now lead the company’s legal function. His responsibilities include managing legal strategy, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance matters. Together, these leadership changes reinforce Brookshire Brothers’ focus on continuity, employee development, and long-term organizational strength as the company continues to serve communities across Texas and Louisiana.
