A new Brookshire Brothers grocery store is coming to Lago Vista, a lakeside community less than 20 miles from Austin, Texas. Construction begins this summer on the new 41,000-square-foot store that is the cornerstone of a large vacant retail space in the Lago Vista Shopping Center. The store will open next spring 2023. Brookshire Brothers is a Texas based employee-owned grocery chain with a focus on conventional products reaching from western Louisiana to the Texas Hill Country. The stores are typically a small to medium footprint with a product selection tailored to the community it serves. The Lago Vista store will be the company’s first in Travis County. Brookshire Brothers celebrated 100 years in operation last year and currently operates nearly 120 grocery and express stores, a central distribution center, 72 pharmacies, 87 fueling stations, four coffee shops, and two event venues.
