Brookshire Grocery Company (BGC), parent company of Brookshire’s and Super 1 Foods, recently celebrated the grand re-openings of three remodeled stores in northwest Louisiana, reinforcing the retailer’s continued investment in its store network and local communities.
The renovated locations include stores at Line Avenue and Mansfield Road in Shreveport and Airline Drive in Bossier City. BGC leaders, city representatives and local residents gathered for ribbon-cutting ceremonies at each location, with the company’s 13-foot-tall motorized Big Grocery Cart making appearances during the celebrations.
The remodeled stores feature refreshed shopping environments focused on customer service, fresh meat and produce and value-driven offerings. Updates are part of BGC’s broader strategy to modernize stores and enhance the customer experience across its four-state footprint.
“These remodels reflect our ongoing commitment to investing in our stores, our employee-partners and the communities we serve,” said Jerry LeClair, interim CEO of BGC. “We are proud to continue enhancing the shopping experience for our customers in Shreveport and Bossier City while supporting the local organizations that make these communities stronger.”
To commemorate the re-openings, BGC donated $1,000 each to the Shreveport and Bossier City Police and Fire Departments, along with contributions to Friends of Friends, a family resource center, and the Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier’s Red Apron Pantry.
Founded in 1928, BGC operates more than 220 stores across Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma, supported by three distribution centers and more than 17,500 employee-partners. The family-owned retailer has also been certified as a Great Place to Work since 2020.
