Brookshire Grocery to Acquire Piggly Wiggly in Louisiana

Brookshire Grocery Co. (BGC) and Kenyan Grocery Company have announced an agreement for BGC to acquire the Piggly Wiggly store in Haynesville, Louisiana. The store will be rebranded as a Spring Market location following a brief closure for conversion next month. “We are excited about this opportunity to enhance our service to the Haynesville community and northern Louisiana,” said Brad Brookshire, Chairman and CEO of Brookshire Grocery Co. “Many familiar team members will join us, ready to provide quality products, competitive pricing, and outstanding customer service. For nearly 96 years, BGC has been dedicated to offering top-tier service, and we’re thrilled to continue that legacy.”

After the acquisition, the store will undergo a brief transition before reopening as Spring Market. A remodel will follow, introducing new features and an expanded product selection for customers. The Food Partners acted as strategic and financial advisors to Kenyan Grocery in this transaction.

As a family-owned company, BGC upholds the core values of its founder, focusing on exceptional customer service, clean stores, fresh products, and strong community engagement. With more than 17,000 employees and over 210 store locations across four states, BGC operates under the banners of Brookshire’s, Super 1 Foods, Spring Market, FRESH by Brookshire’s, and Reasor’s. This acquisition will mark the 66th BGC location in Louisiana.
