Capella Market Under New Ownership Still Locally Owned and Operated
Capella Market is now under new management with Rex Snellstrom and Steen Heidel partnering in the purchase of the Eugene Oregon local market. Rex was previously the store director and Steen held the grocery manager position before the acquisition. Both are very excited for this new chapter in their careers and look forward to providing the best local and organic products available. “Thanks for being such a great community for all these years. The current Capella Market location started as Oasis Fine Foods a local natural grocery store in 1986 that was then purchased by Wild Oats in 1997. This changed the market from its local roots to a larger chain that many locals did not connect with. After eight short years, Wild Oats closed its doors on November 27th, 2004, which was then purchased by a group of local Wild Oats employs who sought to bring back its loyal customers. They named the store Capella Market after the Alpha star in the Auriga constellation. The store is locally known for having friendly and knowledgeable staff while providing local produce offerings and a robust organic selection. Quality is important in all things.
