Texas-based H-E-B Grocery Co. is now offering “tap-to-pay” at its registers in all 10 Central Market locations across the state. Central Market shoppers can now pay for their groceries using mobile payment services like Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.
H-E-B, previously one of the last major retailers to resist Apple Pay, has been exploring various ways to simplify the shopping experience. The company plans to expand tap-to-pay options to more stores in the future, but has yet to expand the service to its flagship banner.
Central Market is H-E-B’s specialty, natural, organic and gourmet banner that offers cooking classes, locally sourced products, and freshly prepared foods.
