Charlotte to Welcome New Wegmans Location

Wegmans Food Markets has officially broken ground on its first Charlotte location, signaling the company’s expansion into the Southeast. The new store, set to open in fall 2026, will be situated at 11550 North Community House Road in the Ballantyne neighborhood. Spanning approximately 110,000 square feet, the store will include a 650-space parking lot on a 14-acre site.

This development is part of the broader Ballantyne Reimagined project, which aims to transform the area into a vibrant mixed-use community. The Charlotte store will feature Wegmans’ signature departments, including produce, seafood, meat, bakery, deli, cheese, and a market café with both indoor and outdoor seating. Additionally, the store will incorporate unique elements such as an overhead mechanical train and a rooster that crows on the hour, adding to the distinctive shopping experience that Wegmans is known for.

The company’s expansion into Charlotte reflects its commitment to bringing its unique shopping experience to new communities, and the Ballantyne location is expected to attract a significant number of customers from the surrounding areas. As Wegmans continues to grow, it remains focused on maintaining its reputation for excellence and community engagement.
