Clackamette Park Comes Clean with SOLVE and PRESENCE

On September 8th, four PRESENCE coworkers spent the morning volunteering with SOLVE to clean up Clackamette Park in Oregon City, Oregon. The Park lies at the union of the Willamette and Clackamas Rivers and is home to blue heron rookery, osprey, cormorants, and bald eagles. The rivers are also home to migrating salmon and steelhead. We helped remove harmful litter from the park and shoreline, helping to keep our rivers, wildlife, and natural areas clean and healthy.

SOLVE was founded in 1969 to bring Oregonians together to improve our environment and build a legacy of stewardship. They restore and preserve Oregon’s environment with the assistance of volunteers, partners, and the generosity of donors. SOLVE has many volunteer opportunities year-round including litter cleanups, beach cleanups and tree planting to support pollinators and other wildlife.

The SOLVE team provided us with gloves, super cute bright colored vests, litter bags and a litter grabber. We didn’t quite cover all 25 acres of the park but our attendance along with everyone else surely made an impact that day.

Thank you Jim Simonsen, Amanda Minalgo, June Grill and Jason Follin for a job well done.
