Congratulations to Heidi Hiller’s Mom – 100th Birthday
An extraordinary day in an extraordinary life.
Katharina Naase was born on January 12th, 1926 in Soltur, Yugoslavia and grew up on a farm and vineyard with her parents and brother. Survived several years in a concentration camp in 1944. Married on May 28th, 1949 and came to America on a boat called “General Hersey” in 1952 with only her husband and son and settled in Chicago. She is blessed with 3 children, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
She attributes her long and mostly healthy life to good food and good friends. She now lives in New Mexico and is kept busy by the ladies in the assisted living facility who ask her to sew up holes in sweaters between knitting blankets, or small hats for newborns she donates to the local hospital.
