Foxtrot and Dom’s Kitchen to Merge

Two trendy Chicago based retailers plan to combine in an all stock merger. Dom’s Kitchen & Market and Foxtrot will become Outfox Hospitality with Foxtrot CEO, Liz Williams taking the top leadership position of the combined firm.  Jay Owen, Chairman of Dom’s, will become the Chairman of the holding company, while Don Fitzgerald will serve as President and Chief Operating officer. “We’ve long admired Dom’s Kitchen & Market and our boards had been talking for a while,” said Williams in an interview. “We had both been in the market, looking for what was next for both organizations”.

Foxtrot has 30 C-Store sized locations primarily in Chicago but also in Washington D.C., Dallas, and Austin. Dom’s was founded in 2021 by Bob Mariano, who previously started Mariano’s Supermarkets under the Roundy’s umbrella which has since been acquired by Kroger. Both Foxtrot and Dom’s have expanded in Chicago’s fashionable Lincoln Park and Old Town neighborhoods. Williams plans to”…retain both brands as we get going, both are beloved. This is really going to allow us to lean into organic growth. We’ll be expanding our prepared foods, expanding our private label, and really getting into our café and coffee business”.
