The Fresh Market plans to open a store in one of the two shuttered Dom’s Kitchen & Market locations. Dom’s closed it’s two stores on April 23rd when their partner convenience store chain, Foxtrot, closed all 33 stores in Chicago, Austin, Dallas and Washington, D.C.
The Fresh Market is based in Greensboro, North Carolina and owns 160 stores in 22 states including stores in Wilmette, Crystal Lake, Geneva and Lake Forest, Illinois. The Fresh Market will be in the Lincoln Park location. The other Dom’s location in Chicago’s Old Towne neighborhood remains available. A spokesman for the Fresh Market confirmed the plans. “We’re thrilled to announce that the Fresh Market will be opening a new location in Chicago’s vibrant Lincoln Park neighborhood this fall. Our new store will be located at 2730 N. Halsted, the former site of the Dom’s Kitchen & Market. We understand how cherished Dom’s was to the local community, and we are committed to providing an exceptional shopping experience that honors this legacy. At The Fresh Market, we aim to deliver a familiar yet elevated shopping experience that will exceed guests’ expectations and are excited to become a valued part of the Lincoln Park community”.
