Construction is underway on H-E-B’s newest San Antonio store, located near Interstate 10 and Loop 1604 East, with the location expected to open in late 2026. The approximately 125,000-square-foot store will serve the growing communities east of San Antonio while providing convenient access for commuters traveling to surrounding areas such as Converse, Seguin and La Vernia.
The new location will offer many of H-E-B’s signature features, including a True Texas BBQ restaurant, drive-thru pharmacy, curbside pickup and home delivery. Shoppers will also find expanded fresh departments featuring in-store bakery items, Meal Simple prepared foods, made-to-order sushi, premium meat and seafood selections, Cooking Connection demonstrations, Healthy Living products and Texas Backyard outdoor merchandise. More than 400 partners will staff the store when it opens.
The store’s General Manager, Will Tate, has roots in the area and has held managerial positions at several H-E-B stores. “I have some deep roots in this community. I grew up here,” said Tate, who has worked at H-E-B for more than 30 years. “I’m looking forward to working with our Partners to create a store environment that both serves and celebrates the people in this community.”
As part of the project, H-E-B presented a $25,000 donation to Boysville San Antonio, an organization that supports children and families experiencing abuse, neglect and family crisis. The new store and surrounding retail development further demonstrate H-E-B’s continued investment in serving Texas’ growing communities while expanding access to its full-service grocery format.
