San Antonio-based H-E-B held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new 117,000 square foot flagship-format store in Allen, Texas, approximately 20 miles north of downtown Dallas. It is the first store in Allen and the fourth location in the DFW Metroplex in addition to stores in Frisco, Plano, and McKinney. The Allen store is scheduled to open in late summer 2023 at Exchange Parkway and Greenville Avenue in Collin County. “We have been welcomed with open arms into the Collin County community,” said Juan-Carlos Rück, H-E-B Executive Vice President, Northwest Food/Drug Division. “We’re excited to become neighbors in another dynamic and growing North Texas city. We look forward to providing an outstanding shopping experience in Allen with the best H-E-B has to offer.” The store will feature a True Texas BBQ restaurant, named best barbeque chain in Texas by Texas Monthly. It will be the first H-E-B in North Texas to include an H-E-B Wellness Primary Care Clinic. Other features include a full-service drive-thru pharmacy, and a large outdoor department.
Through its Spirit of Giving philosophy, H-E-B gifted $50,000 to five local nonprofits located in Allen to celebrate the groundbreaking. “One of the true joys of being a part of the H-E-B team is getting to know local organizations doing great work in the communities in which we operate. We are pleased to be able to give back to five of these organizations making a difference in Allen,” said Mabrie Jackson, H-E-B Director of Public Affairs. “We look forward to continuing H-E-B’s spirit of giving commitment and serving our new neighbors starting now and well into the future.” H-E-B is a leader in charitable giving. The company makes large donations to the communities it serves for all grand openings and new store openings. H-E-B commemorated the last three groundbreaking ceremonies in North Texas with gifts totaling $200,000 to 21 nonprofits in Plano, Frisco, McKinney, and Allen, Texas. The Plano and Frisco stores are set to open later this year, with Allen and McKinney will opening sometime in 2023.
