H-E-B has officially begun construction on its new store in Rockwall, a city northeast of Dallas. The 131,000-square-foot store will include traditional grocery sections like a bakery, deli, and seafood department, as well as popular H-E-B features such as Sushiya, a sushi counter, and True Texas BBQ, an in-store barbecue restaurant owned by H-E-B. It is slated to open in late 2025. The Rockwall H-E-B will be located at the southwest corner of I-30 and S. John King Boulevard in Rockwall County. In addition to a diverse product selection at H-E-B’s everyday low prices, the store will offer a full-service H-E-B Pharmacy with a drive-thru, and H-E-B Curbside and Home Delivery.
To mark the groundbreaking ceremony, H-E-B announced a $50,000 donation to local organizations. The company gifted $10,000 each to the Rockwall ISD Education Foundation, the Children’s Advocacy Center for Rockwall County, Rockwall County Helping Hands, Friends of the Rockwall County Library, and the Rainbow Room of Rockwall County. These donations continue H-E-B’s tradition of supporting more than 150 non-profit organizations and public schools in the DFW Metroplex.
In the DFW area, H-E-B has opened 15 H-E-B stores in Fort Worth, Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Allen, Alliance, and Mansfield, and other areas, with another 9 currently in development. Additionally, there are 11 plots of land HEB has purchased around DFW, but the company has yet to confirm plans for the land. Although HEB’s North Texas land purchases and new store openings are ramping up, Kroger, Albertsons and Walmart will continue to be the dominant conventional grocers in the area.
