H-E-B Continues North Texas Expansion in Melissa

H-E-B is actively expanding its presence in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. The company broke ground last month on a new store in Melissa, Texas, one of Collin County’s fastest-growing suburbs. The 131,000-square-foot establishment, expected to open in 2025, will feature all the products and services typical of an H-E-B store. Positioned at the northeast corner of U.S. 75 and Highway 121, the store will include a pharmacy with a drive-thru, a True Texas BBQ restaurant with a drive-thru, and offer curbside and home delivery services.

Juan-Carlos Rück, H-E-B’s Executive Vice President North West Food/Drug, expressed excitement about fortifying their presence in the DFW metroplex through the Melissa expansion. Rück stated, “Our H-E-B locations across North Texas continue to stir up great excitement with customers, and we look forward to providing an outstanding shopping experience with the best H-E-B has to offer.”

To mark the groundbreaking event, H-E-B announced a $40,000 donation to Melissa ISD schools, allocating $5,000 to each of the following: Melissa Ridge Education Center, Harry McKillop Elementary, Sumeer Elementary, Melissa Sixth Grade Center, Melissa Middle School, North Creek Elementary, Willow Wood Elementary, and Melissa High School.

In addition to the Melissa store, H-E-B plans to open stores in Prosper and Rockwall next year. Stores in Frisco, McKinney, Allen, and Plano have already opened, while two stores in Alliance and Mansfield, currently under construction, are expected to open this year. H-E-B also has plans to open two Joe V’s Smart Shop by H-E-B stores in Dallas, the company’s discount banner offering fresh products at low prices.
