H-E-B Expands College Delivery Service to U.T. Austin
In partnership with the University of Texas at Austin, H-E-B is offering same-day grocery delivery service to students, faculty and staff. Access to fresh groceries on campus is limited and H-E-B is stepping in to fill a void in the market. A dedicated delivery program provides an avenue for H-E-B to reach those customers without the overhead of a standalone store. H-E-B made a similar partnership with Texas A&M University in College Station in April 2021 and with Sam Houston University in Huntsville, Texas last November. These initial programs have been successful and allowed H-E-B to expand college delivery services to the largest university in Texas.
H-E-B owns the delivery service Favor, which will be used for deliveries. The University of Texas has designated four locations across campus where H-E-B’s Favor delivery drivers can park for free while making their deliveries. “As we look to the future and the changing face of commerce, we are proud to become one of H-E-B’s newest Campus Delivery Hubs, a step that will ensure all Longhorns have access to affordable nutrition,” Kelsey Evans, Executive Director for Corporate Relations at the University of Texas. College students and faculty across Texas can expect the program to expand to other university campuses in the future.
