H-E-B announced last month that it will open its first store in Irving, Texas. The announcement is the latest of several moves made in quick succession by H-E-B to expand its presence to nearly two dozen stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth region. The new location will be situated in the Las Colinas area at the intersection of IH 635 and Olympus Boulevard. Scheduled to open in late 2026, the store is expected to create approximately 700 jobs in the area. Construction is set to begin later this year. Irving Mayor Rick Stopfer welcomed the news, emphasizing the positive impact H-E-B will have on the local community.
The Texas grocery chain’s announcement of its first Irving store marks the latest step in its rapid expansion in the metropolitan region. Irving is an ideal location for new store development. The City of Irving is in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) metropolitan area in North Texas, lying 10 miles northwest of downtown Dallas. Irving is well-positioned within the DFW metroplex, making it part of one of the largest and fastest-growing urban regions in Texas. Irving is also close to major transportation hubs, such as Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, which is just north of the city, and it serves as a key suburban area for both Dallas and Fort Worth residents.
