H-E-B Expands with New Store and True Texas BBQ in Pflugerville

H-E-B, the Texas-based grocery giant, continues its rapid growth with the opening of a new store in Pflugerville, a suburb of Austin. The 127,000-square-foot location, which officially opened on November 13th, features a True Texas BBQ restaurant, adding to the chain’s portfolio of over 30 barbecue locations across the state.

The new store reflects H-E-B’s commitment to sustainability by incorporating CO2 refrigeration units, energy-efficient LED lighting, and native landscaping. Designed with modern convenience in mind, it offers a dedicated covered parking area for curbside delivery, a full-service pharmacy with a two-lane drive-thru, a fuel station with a car wash, and a Texas Backyard section featuring gardening and outdoor products. Located at 2641 E. Pflugerville Parkway, this is H-E-B’s third location in Pflugerville.

H-E-B’s rapid expansion extends beyond the Austin area. The company recently broke ground on new stores in Manor and Georgetown, adding to its growing presence in Central Texas. In the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, H-E-B has opened multiple stores in cities like Mansfield, Allen, Frisco, Plano, and McKinney, with more locations on the way.

The company is also advancing its specialty store concepts. Joe V’s Smart Shop, H-E-B’s discount grocery brand, recently opened in metro Houston, with plans for a Dallas location in spring 2025. Meanwhile, Central Market, which focuses on natural and organic foods, will soon debut its 11th location in Dallas.
