H-E-B continues to grow its value-focused Joe V’s Smart Shop banner with the opening of a new Irving location, marking the brand’s third store in North Texas and 14th statewide.
The 58,000-square-foot store reflects Joe V’s Smart Shop’s low-price format, offering fresh produce, in-store cut meats, bakery items made on site, and daily-prepared sushi. The concept is designed to reduce operating costs and pass savings on to customers while maintaining the fresh-food standards associated with H-E-B.
“With our 14th Joe V’s Smart Shop, we’re expanding our presence in North Texas and continuing to serve fast-growing communities with quality and value,” said Roxanne Orsak, H-E-B Chief Operating Officer.
To mark the opening, Joe V’s Smart Shop donated $20,000 to local nonprofits, including Irving Cares and the Irving Schools Foundation, and provided a book vending machine stocked with free books to Johnston Elementary School.
The Irving store is the third Joe V’s Smart Shop to open in Texas this year, following a Dallas opening in March and a north Houston location in August. The banner made its first move outside Houston last year with a Dallas store opening.
Joe V’s Smart Shop continues to be an economic contributor across Texas. The Irving location employs approximately 220 workers, most hired locally, and offers training, competitive pay, benefits, and career development opportunities. Launched in 2010, the banner now employs more than 2,700 workers across 14 stores in North Texas and the Houston area.
Joe V’s Smart Shop is part of H-E-B’s multiformat portfolio, which also includes Central Market, Mi Tienda, and Favor Delivery.
