H-E-B Opens First Store in Fort Worth

San Antonio-based H-E-B Grocery Co. has unveiled its Alliance store in far north Fort Worth. It is the first H-E-B flagship banner in Fort Worth and the fifth in Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The retailer currently has six more North Texas locations in the pipeline. Over 800 people lined up before dawn to celebrate the grand opening on April 10th. The line wrapped around the building with eager customers huddled in blankets and umbrellas to welcome the first H-E-B in Fort Worth.

“We’re excited to open our doors and welcome our neighbors in this dynamic area of Tarrant County, a community we’ve served for more than 20 years with our Central Market stores,” said Chase Bowman, H-E-B Alliance Top Store Leader. “With an enhanced in-store experience and commitment to top-quality service and selection, our dedicated Partners are eager to serve the needs of our customers in this growing community.”

The 125,000-square-foot Fort Worth location features a pharmacy with drive-thru and a Wellness Primary Care clinic, offering primary care, physical therapy, health/nutrition coaching, clinical pharmacists, specialty referrals and labs. The store includes a True Texas BBQ restaurant with drive-thru, as well as curbside and home delivery, plus a Texas Backyard department with a wide selection of plants and outdoor products.

To commemorate the grand opening, H-E-B donated $20,000, with $10,000 going to CASA of Tarrant County and $10,000 to the Humane Society of North Texas. “One of the true joys of being a part of H-E-B is getting to know local organizations doing great work in the communities we serve,” said Mabrie Jackson, Senior Director of Public Affairs. “We are proud to support these organizations, and we look forward to continue serving our new neighbors now and well into the future.” H-E-B made an additional $10,000 charitable contribution at the groundbreaking ceremony in November 2022. The company currently supports over 150 non-profit organizations and public schools in Dallas-Fort Worth.

The H-E-B flagship banner is making a large push into North Texas for the first time in its history. The company recently opened stores in Frisco, Plano, McKinney, and Allen in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. H-E-B has also announced stores in Mansfield, Melissa and Prosper, which are under construction, and Rockwall, which will break ground soon.
