H-E-B has officially opened its newest location in the city of Melissa, Texas bringing a 136,000-square-foot store to the growing community in Collin County. Located at 1230 Central Expressway, at the intersection of US 75 and Highway 121, the store adds to H-E-B’s continued expansion in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, joining seven other full-format H-E-B stores and two Joe V’s Smart Shop locations in the region.
The Melissa store features many of the hallmarks customers have come to expect from H-E-B, including a full-service pharmacy and fuel station, curbside pickup and home delivery, and a wide range of fresh food offerings. One of its standout amenities is a two-story True Texas BBQ restaurant with a drive-thru, offering convenient access to H-E-B’s signature smoked meats.
Shoppers will also find an in-store bakery, an expansive deli, a meat market with premium selections, and a floral department with delivery options. H-E-B’s popular Meal Simple offerings and live cooking demos make it easy for customers to bring home fresh, ready-to-eat meals. The store also includes departments for beauty, household goods, pet supplies, and health and wellness products.
Environmental sustainability is a key part of the store’s design, with energy-efficient features such as CO2 refrigeration systems and LED lighting. The store employs approximately 600 Partners, most of whom are from the local area. As part of its Spirit of Giving initiative, H-E-B marked the grand opening with $20,000 in donations to local nonprofits, awarding $10,000 each to Grace Food Pantry and Mutts & Mayhem.
The new store reflects H-E-B’s commitment to growth in North Texas. Earlier this year, the company opened a new Joe V’s Smart Shop in Dallas, with additional H-E-B stores in Rockwall and Prosper currently under construction. With over 435 stores across Texas and Mexico and more than 160,000 employees, H-E-B continues to expand its presence while delivering the quality, service, and community support it’s known for.
