H-E-B Plans New $30 Million Store in San Marcos

H-E-B has filed plans to construct a new 118,945-square-foot store in San Marcos, Texas, with an estimated cost of $30 million. This marks only the third H-E-B grocery store in San Marcos, a vibrant college town in Central Texas and home to Texas State University. More locations are on the way, with new stores planned for Buda and Georgetown. Construction is scheduled to begin on September 1st, 2025, and is expected to be completed by October 2026.

The new store will be located at the intersection of I-35 and McCarty Lane and will include the city’s first True Texas BBQ restaurant. Additional features will include expanded product selections, Curbside pickup, enhanced services like pharmacy pick-up spaces, and a fuel station.

As part of its commitment to the community, H-E-B has also donated $10,000 to local non-profits, demonstrating its support for the San Marcos area. “We are always looking for growth opportunities to better serve our customers. This is a project we have had in the works for years, and we look forward to serving even more customers in this growing part of Texas with the best H-E-B has to offer,” said Cathy Harm, H-E-B Senior Vice President, Central Texas Region.
