H-E-B to Open Second Dallas-area Joe V’s Smart Shop

H-E-B celebrated the groundbreaking of its second Dallas Joe V’s Smart Shop on March 20th, marking the beginning of construction for the 55,000 square-foot grocery store. Anticipated to open next spring, this new location at the intersection of Buckner Boulevard and Samuell Boulevard is located across from a Walmart Supercenter and a Sam’s Club. The new Joe V’s Smart Shop is projected to create jobs for around 200 individuals in Dallas.

Originating in Houston in 2010, Joe V’s Smart Shop has expanded to 10 locations in the Houston area under H-E-B’s management. Last year, H-E-B initiated construction on another Joe V’s store at the junction of Wheatland Road and Highway 67 in Dallas, set to be the brand’s first store beyond the Houston region, with an expected opening this summer.

“We’re excited to continue our growth in the Dallas area and eager to serve customers in the metroplex with top-quality service and the freshest products at the lowest prices in the marketplace,” said Roxanne Orsak, H-E-B Chief Operating Officer. “We look forward to bringing this proud H-E-B brand to more Texans.” Additionally, to mark the groundbreaking event, Joe V’s Smart Shop announced $30,000 in donations to local schools and nonprofits, including $10,000 contributions to Buckner International, Dallas ISD’s Skyline High School, and Frank Guzick Elementary.

As part of its diverse brand portfolio, H-E-B manages Central Market stores across Texas, alongside Joe V’s Smart Shop and Mi Tienda stores in the Houston area. The company also oversees Favor Delivery, an on-demand delivery service, catering to the needs of its customers across various regions.
