Spanish Fork may soon be home to a Harmons grocery store. Conceptual plans show a 7.5-acre commercial parcel near 400 North and Spanish Fork Parkway has been sold to the Utah based grocer. The site plan sites Spanish Forks rapid growth and the nearby Maple Mountain High School as key advantages for the future development. In a statement to the Daily Herald Harmons CEO Scott Lewis confirmed plans to build a store in Spanish Fork., and said the company is excited to expand into southern Utah County. “High-quality great tasing food is our passion, and we can’t wait to share that passion with another neighborhood in Utah.
Founded in 1932, Harmons has grown from a small market into a gourmet-focused grocer known for local and organic products. If approved, the Spanish Fork location would become the company’s 21st store and third in Utah County, joining Orem and Lehi.
The proposed store is expected to attract shoppers from surrounding cities, though locals have expressed mixed reactions online, some praising the added options, others worried about increased traffic on 400 North.
