It’s Always “Sprout”y in Philadelphia

Sprouts Farmers Market is poised for substantial growth in the Philadelphia area, marking the five-year milestone since its arrival in the region. The Phoenix-based natural grocery chain is set to introduce six new stores in the Philly area, effectively more than doubling its local footprint to a total of 11 locations. Currently, Sprouts is actively developing three new stores in Philadelphia, one in Montgomery County, and two additional stores at undisclosed locations. Among these new stores, the Quartermaster Plaza store on Oregon Avenue in South Philly and another at the Roosevelt Mall in the Northeast are anticipated to be open for business by mid-2024. A third Sprouts location within Philadelphia is taking shape on the former Festival Pier music venue site on Columbus Boulevard in Northern Liberties, with plans for its grand opening in 2025.

Beyond the city limits, Sprouts is gearing up for the opening of a store at Ridge Pike and Township Line Road in Limerick, a township in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania 34 miles northwest of Center City, Philadelphia. Sprouts opted not to disclose the locations of the other two grocery stores it intends to open in the Philadelphia area. Founded in Chandler, Arizona, in 2022, Sprouts Farmers Market has garnered a reputation for its emphasis on fresh products, organic foods, and a health-conscious product inventory that encompasses natural body care items, vitamins, and supplements.

The company’s reach has significantly expanded since its inception, with more than 380 locations now spanning 23 states. Sprouts initially entered the Philadelphia market in 2018 with its store at South Broad and Carpenter Streets. It has since expanded its presence to other areas, including Upper Dublin, Marlton, New Jersey, and Wilmington, Delaware.
