H-E-B is continuing to grow its Joe V’s Smart Shop format in the Houston area, with another location planned for Humble as the retailer expands its value-focused concept. Joe V’s currently operates 11 stores throughout Greater Houston.
The new store is under construction at 19611 U.S. 59, in the former Conn’s space at Humblewood Shopping Center. The location is currently expected to open in early 2027, adding another Joe V’s to the northern Houston-area market.
The Humble location is part of a broader expansion for the concept. H-E-B is also planning a Joe V’s along State Highway 288 north of Almeda, giving the company additional locations in growing areas around Houston.
Joe V’s Smart Shop was created as a separate grocery format that offers lower prices through a limited assortment and high-volume approach. The concept allows H-E-B to compete for value-focused shoppers while operating multiple formats in the same market. With the Humble location and additional stores in development, Joe V’s is becoming an increasingly significant part of H-E-B’s Houston-area growth strategy.
