King Soopers Breaks Ground on New Colorado Storefront

King Soopers, a banner of The Kroger Co., has officially broken ground on a new store location in Denver’s Belcaro neighborhood. Set to open in approximately one year, the upcoming store will replace a nearby existing location and offer an enhanced shopping experience for area residents.

“In addition to providing a traditional in-store experience, customers will be able to enjoy the convenience of pickup and delivery services, and a drive-thru pharmacy to best accommodate their busy lifestyle,” the company shared in a recent news release.

The Belcaro store is the latest addition to King Soopers’ growing footprint in Colorado. Earlier this year, the company announced plans for a 123,000-square-foot supermarket at the Copperleaf development in Aurora. These developments follow store openings in Colorado Springs and Fort Collins earlier this year, reflecting King Soopers’ continued investment in expanding access to fresh, high-quality groceries across the state.

The new Belcaro location will feature a full assortment of grocery staples, household essentials, and a robust selection of fresh offerings, including chef-prepared meals, fresh sushi, and a curated selection of artisan cheeses from the Murray’s Cheese collection.

King Soopers and City Market employ more than 22,300 associates across Colorado, delivering daily service and quality to local communities. As part of The Kroger Co., King Soopers contributes to a nationwide network of nearly 420,000 associates serving over 11 million customers each day. Kroger, headquartered in Cincinnati, ranks No. 4 on The PG 100, Progressive Grocer’s 2024 list of the top food and consumables retailers in North America, and was also honored as one of the publication’s Retailers of the Century.
