Kroger Re-Opens Forney Location

Kroger celebrated the grand reopening of its remodeled store at 500 Marketplace Boulevard in Forney, Texas, on September 11th, following months of improvements. The event launched a special weekly promotion running through September 17th, offering exclusive savings, including 20 cents off per gallon at the store’s fuel center with a Kroger Rewards Card during the weekend of September 13th to 15th. The grand reopening featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, product samples, giveaways, and “perfect breakfast” items for the first 200 shoppers. Kroger also made a donation to the Kaufman Christian Help Center in support of its Zero Hunger Zero Waste initiative. The store’s renovations include enhanced décor, a fresh new look, and improvements to service areas such as the bakery, deli, produce, floral, and meat/seafood sections. The grocery aisles have been updated with local, natural, and healthy product selections to better serve customers.

Earlier this summer, Kroger and Albertsons announced plans to sell nearly 600 grocery stores, including 28 in Texas, to a competitor if their $24.6 billion merger is approved. Although the merger was proposed on October 14th, 2022, it has not yet received regulatory approval. The newly remodeled Forney, Texas location was not included in the list of stores up for sale.
