Lassens Natural Foods Expanding with New Locations

Lassens Natural Foods is growing rapidly. About a month ago,  Lassens acquired the Whole Wheatery, a beloved health food store in Lancaster, California. The Whole Wheatery was founded and operated by Cheryl Hughes, and has been a cornerstone of the natural food’s community since 1983. Cheryl has spent many years advocating for health and wellness, influencing national policies like the DSHEA, and supporting numerous small businesses in the industry. Lassens will be taking over this iconic store and continuing its legacy in Lancaster!

Lassens is expanding even further as they have also acquired Marlene’s Market & Deli, a two-store chain located in Washington State. Marlene, the founder of these stores, has been a recognized leader in the natural foods’ community for decades. In 2019, she received the Provender Alliance’s Pioneering Woman Award for her dedication to the growth of the natural food movement. Marlene’s stores have long been known for their exceptional customer service and commitment to health education, values that will continue under Lassen’s ownership.

Currently, the three stores — The Whole Wheatery in Lancaster, and Marlene’s Market & Deli in Federal Way and Tacoma Washington — will operate under their original names. However, as the integration process progresses, they may eventually transition to the Lassens brand.
