Lin’s Market Store Boss Named among Top Women in Grocery

Each year, Progressive Grocer receives over a thousand nominations for its Top Women in Grocery (TWIG) awards. This year, Rochelle Mellor, the Store Director at Lin’s Market in Cedar City, Utah, was honored with one of these prestigious awards.

Elizabeth Barnett, Senior Marketing Specialist at Associated Foods, Inc., said Mellor strives to provide the best for Cedar City customers with her focus on teamwork and her positive attitude. Rochelle has been with Lin’s Market for over 22 years. Her commitment to working with her teams to provide the best shopping experience for her guests has been recognized both within the company and in the wider community. Under her leadership, Lin’s Cedar City received the “Best in County” award for exceptional customer service. In 2023, Lin’s Market’s meat department was named “Number One in Iron County.”

“Rochelle is very talented, and we are so lucky to have her as part of the team”, said Steve Holm, District Manager. “Her dedication to the store and her guests is inspiring.”

Rochelle’s dedication extends beyond the store. She is deeply involved in the Cedar City community which is home to Southern Utah University (SUU). Over the years, Rochelle and her team have partnered with the university on several events, strengthening the store’s community outreach efforts.

During SUU’s football season this year, Lin’s Market, under Rochelle’s leadership, organized a food drive for the local Hope Pantry to combat food insecurity among SUU students. The initiative aimed to collect the weight of the football team in food donations, with collection stations set up at Lin’s Cedar City location leading up to one of the biggest games of the season. The result was remarkable, with Lin’s Market surpassing its goal by collecting 4,467 pounds of food.

“I feel very blessed to be a part of the Lin’s family,” said Mellor. “I love working for a company that places so much emphasis on giving back to the community. I have an amazing team that makes all this possible. We are a family and I’m grateful to have them at my side.”
