Meijer Continues to Grow

Meijer has been busy in the month of May opening two supercenters, one in Bainbridge Township, Ohio and the other in Brownsburg, Indiana. A smaller format store was also opened in Rochester Hills, Michigan. The tree stores combined add more than 365,000 square feet of retail space to the Michigan based chain. The Bainbridge store is 159,000 square feet and is located on the former site of the Geauga Lake Amusement Park, a nostalgic part of Ohio history that closed in 2007.

Meijer’s Simply Give program, which generated over $100 million for the Midwest food pantries since 2008, has named Chagrin Falls Park Community Center, which provides a wide variety of supportive services to families in Bainbridge and surrounding area, as its first partner in the area. “Our new stores is grateful for the opportunity to serve Bainbridge Township, and they’re already working hard to do that,”  said Meijer President and CEO Rick Keyes. “We look forward to serving our neighbors every day and becoming a valued part of the community.”
