New in New England: Mom’s Organic Market Opens First Store in Massachusetts
Rockville, Maryland-based Mom’s Organic Market opened a new Massachusetts store in February. Just 30 minutes outside of Boston, Burlington will be the first Mom’s location in New England. Located in the Burlington Crossroads shopping center at 34 Cambridge St, the new store offers sustainable seafood – Mom’s is the only grocery store in the U.S. to offer 100% sustainable seafood – 100% organic produce, gluten-free and vegan products, wellness and body care, bulk spices/herbs/tea, and more. The new location, at nearly 12,000 square-feet, also features an extensive recycling program accepting cell phones, tablets, batteries, shoes, compost, eyeglasses, shoes, and corks and hold annual recycling drives for denim and holiday lights. In celebration of the new store opening, 5% of Burlington’s opening weekend sales are going to the following local environmental organizations: Mystic River Watershed Alliance, Massachusetts Rivers Alliance, The Trustees, and Friends of the Fells. After three decades of business, Mom’s now operates over 20 stores in five states and D.C., employs more than 1,000 people, and has created a culture in protecting and restoring the environment.
