New Spot for Albuquerque NGVC Boasts More Space, Selection, Services

Natural Grocers has relocated their Albuquerque store from 4420 Wyoming Boulevard NE to a larger location less than a half mile away at 4625 Wyoming Boulevard NE. The original location closed on December 11th with a grand re-opening on December 14th for the new location.

The grand re-opening included a ribbon cutting ceremony, gift card giveaways, and spinning wheel prizes, as well as a generous $2,500 donation to their local food bank partner, Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico.

Raquel Isely, VP of Marketing for Natural Grocers stated, “Natural Grocers has been proud to serve the community of Albuquerque since the original location opened over 20 years ago, in August of 2003…this was the first of our six Natural Grocers stores in New Mexico, and we decided it was time for a store ‘glow-up’. It’s important to us that each location provides the best possible shopping experience for our customers.”

The larger scale store provides additional space and increased product selection including a 100% organic produce section, larger body care and beauty products, and supplement department. A nutrition education center was built for community members to take nutritional education classes and attend recipe demos. The new space was created with sustainability in mind by using energy-saving technologies such as non-toxic building materials and LED lighting to lower their environmental footprint.

Natural Grocers is a Colorado-based grocer that saw a 6.9% leap in sales as their consumers seek health and wellness products. Their net sales jumped 7.6% to $295.1 million for the quarter ending September 30th. As part of their annual expansion, they’re looking to open between six and eight new stores a year moving forward.
