Oliver’s Markets are thrilled to share some exciting news about their Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Oliver’s opted to execute its ESOP transition in two parts starting in 2017. They are proud to announce that on October 31st,2024, the second part of their transaction was completed, resulting in Oliver’s Market being 100% employee owned.
When Oliver’s Market founder Steve Maass began planning for the future, his priority was to ensure a strong and independent path for Oliver’s to continue into perpetuity. Instead of selling to a competitor, he opted to sell the company to the people who helped build it – the employees.
They will continue to operate as they always have, committed to outstanding service, selection, and quality. Over time, employee ownership brings their employees additional financial security and strengthens the continued independence of Oliver’s Market in Sonoma County.
This transition brings no changes to day-to-day business, account information, or staff. Their commitment to supporting local producers and makers remains as strong as ever, ensuring our stability and independence.
