Pete’s Fresh Market opened their doors in Southwest Suburban Tinley Park, in early September. The debut of the 88,000 square foots store was met with happy shoppers who received grand opening giveaways and a chance to win free groceries. The store was first approved in 2020 but was met with various delays. The store is located on a converted Kmart site that was shuttered years ago. Pete’s Fresh Market started out as a small full service produce stand in the early 1970’s. The chain remains family owned with stores featuring fresh produce, bakery, deli, full-service meat and seafood counter and kitchen. Pete’s currently has 19 stores in Chicagoland with four stores in the works.
