Plum Market Opens Second Florida Store

Detroit-based Plum Market opened their second Florida location this time in Palm Beach Gardens outside of West Palm Beach, Florida. The family that once owned the iconic Merchant of Vino chain in the Detroit area and sold it to Whole Foods Market 25 years ago, has been busy opening beautiful high-end stores in both the Detroit area and in Florida. This second location comes on the heels of the store in Aventura in Miami-Dade County. The Jonna family stores celebrate local foods, specialty candy, outstanding produce, culinary creations in their prepared food pared with an extraordinary wine section. The 30,000 square foot store emphasizes sustainable, non-GMO and organic products.

Nationally, they have a total of six stores and 40 small “kitchens” or service stores with prepared and quick serve foods in airports, offices and athletic facilities. The family plans to open small service locations in the Palm Beach International airport. “The growth in Florida is staggering”, says Marc Jonna. “We’d been looking in the area and saw it as vastly underserved for this type of market. This market is ideal.  This market is the future. People who are moving to Florida are retirees and they spend more income on quality products”.
