Progressive Grocer Names GenNext Honorees

Among Progressive Grocer’s awards programs, the GenNext Awards hold special significance for the editors as they symbolize hope for the grocery industry’s future success. This year, 94 young professionals, aged 23 to 39, have been recognized for their outstanding contributions. These rising leaders work across various sectors, including retail, supply, and solution providers, taking the initiative to lead projects, support their colleagues, and strengthen their communities.

These honorees, who are excelling early in their careers, reflect the grocery industry’s proactive approach in identifying and nurturing talent. By giving these young professionals increased responsibility and recognition, the industry ensures it remains in touch with the needs of younger consumers. Connecting with this emerging workforce is essential for building lasting relationships with the next generation of shoppers, who will be shaping the market for years to come.

As a nominator noted of one 2024 GenNexter, “There’s a reason our division keeps asking [him] to do things and take places in leadership: because he executes with excellence, has a track record of success, is known for his ethics, and [his] positivity impacts others as a servant leader.” The same could be said for all the GenNext awardees, including:
