A new Publix location broke ground in Louisville, Kentucky, located at 2500 Terra Crossing Boulevard in the Terra Crossing Shopping Center. This location, announced in September 2021 and scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2023, will mark Publix’s first Kentucky location and eighth state of operation. The southeastern grocery chain also unveiled the lease signing for a third Kentucky store, which will be located at The Fountains of Palomar in Lexington, Kentucky and expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2024. This follows the late 2021 announcement for a second Louisville, Kentucky location scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2024 which will be situated at the corner of Ballardsville Road and Brownsboro Road. All three locations will occupy about 55,700 square-feet, include a drive-thru pharmacy, and sit adjacent to a 3,200 square-foot Publix Liquors offering beer, wine, and spirits – marking the first Publix Liquors located outside the state of Florida.
