Save Mart Partners with Amazon as Delivery Option

Since Save Mart’s acquisition by private equity firm Kingswood Capital Management there have been several changes in how the company does business.

One such change is partnering with Amazon as a delivery option. This service will initially be offered at stores under the Save Mart banner. The service is expected to be available at other locations in the future. In order to participate the shopper must be an Amazon Prime member. The delivery fee starts at $4.99. Save Mart also provides grocery delivery through Instacart and DoorDash. With the addition of Amazon, they are offering customers who try the new service a 15% discount on an order of at least $50 for a limited time.

Save Mart sees this partnership with Amazon as part of a “digital transition.” Save Mart hopes to provide customers availability to groceries at reasonable prices.

Kingswood has wasted no time in making changes since it acquired Save Mart in March. They will close all of its in-store pharmacies and transition the services to Walgreens. Save Mart announced their intention to expand its private label offerings. This will be through the addition of hundreds of new items -expansion of existing lines and new ones. Save Mart has opened its first small-format location in a 9,549-square-foot space in San Francisco.
