Schnucks Fresh is a new concept banner that the chain launched in 2021 in Jasper, Indiana. Their second store opened on October 25th in Oak Grove Village in Missouri. The store is 23,000 square feet with a special focus on fresh produce, meat, seafood, deli, and bakery departments. This store will replace a Frick’s Market in nearby Sullivan, Missouri which Schnucks purchased in 2022. The two Schnucks Fresh stores are substantially smaller than its traditional grocery stores and are roughly half the size of Schnucks Eatwell Market store, which opened in 2020 in Colombia, Missouri. That 42,000 square foot concept store focuses on organic and healthier foods as well as produce.
“We look forward to continuing our mission to nourish people’s lives and to show area customers what we can offer them when building a store from the ground up,” said Schnucks Chairman and CEO Todd Schnuck in a statement. “Schnucks Fresh will be a store where customers will find an extensive selection of the same fresh products for which Schnucks is known throughout the Midwest”.
