Sprouts Farmers Market announced in October the grand openings of two new locations: one in Tucson, Arizona; and one in and Palmdale, California.
Grand opening events at both locations featured free samples and free activities for kids. A reusable bag full of product samples were distributed to the first 200 shoppers in Tucson and the first 250 shoppers in Palmdale. Both stores also donated grocery items to local food banks as part of Sprouts’ Food Rescue program.
In celebration of the Tucson opening, the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation awarded $100,000 to the Community and School Garden Program at University of Arizona. The program supports more than 60 school gardens in the Tucson area. Local elementary school students will be at the celebration, offering free starter plants grown at their schools’ greenhouses with support from Sprouts.
