Sprouts Farmers Market Expands NIL Program with Seven New Female College Athletes

Sprouts Farmers Market is expanding its commitment to women’s collegiate athletics, announcing seven new female college athletes joining its “PowHERed by Sprouts” Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) platform.

Since launching the program in 2022, the natural grocer has partnered with more than 165 female athletes at over 30 universities across the country, promoting health, wellness, and empowerment through NIL sponsorships.

“Sprouts is proud to be the first natural retailer to invest in women’s collegiate athletics — empowering female athletes, fueling their performance and celebrating their impact in the communities we serve,” said Alisa Gmelich, Chief Marketing Officer at Sprouts. “We are thrilled to support this new Sprouts NIL class to build a healthier and stronger future for all female athletes.”

The newest class brings together standout student-athletes from basketball, soccer, softball, volleyball, and track and field. Through their social media channels, the athletes will share personal stories about how Sprouts supports their nutrition and active lifestyles, highlighting everything from protein-packed meals to Sprouts’ new Wellness Bowls and go-to recovery snacks.

The 2025 “PowHERed by Sprouts” roster includes:

  • Lauren Betts, Basketball (Los Angeles) – The reigning National Defensive Player of the Year and a two-time conference Defensive Player of the Year, Betts became the first in her school’s history to record over 600 points, 300 rebounds, and 100 blocks in a season. She’ll team up with her sister, Sienna Betts, this year for a run at the Women’s Final Four in Phoenix.
  • Sienna Betts, Basketball (Los Angeles) – One of the nation’s top recruits and a recent international gold medalist, Betts joins her sister on the court this season.
